Sr. Project Manager, Alliance Management


AlivaMab Discovery Services (ADS) is seeking an outstanding Sr. Project Manager, Alliance Management who will be instrumental in the planning and execution of key ADS partnerships and client programs from the alliance. This highly visible, highly collaborative role will work broadly across the ADS organization, the strategic partner, and all external clients cross-functionally. This role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities, but along with demonstrated ability and motivation, may include them as ADS continues to grow. This position will help establish trust and effective relationships with partner companies and key team members and report to the Head of Project Management Office (PMO).

  • Cultivates solid and long-term relationships with key partners from initial project discussions through post-project management.
  • Proactively manages partnership risks, including human and business risks, and legal uncertainty
  • Partners with key stakeholders to drive continuous improvement, identify new ideas for partnership expansion opportunities, and initiatives that drive alliances
  • Executes regular business reviews with managed partners
  • Manages and expands existing partner relationships as well as seeking out new ones
  • Maintains and expands a network of contacts within the field of therapeutic antibody discovery
  • Funnels feedback to internal ADS teams on partner requirements for growth by disseminating key learnings and best practices to foster continuous improvement in ADS' partnering capabilities
  • Serves as the owner of specific Alliance Management business processes to improve our capabilities and drive efficiencies
  • Manages the contracting process from the initial contract request through complete execution, including drafting and reviewing agreements, risk mitigation methodology, risk analysis negotiation, and escalating to Legal counsel as necessary



Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher. 5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma or at a CRO and 2+ years in related technical partner alliances experience. Experience with antibody discovery preferred.
  • Experience managing or working on partnerships with pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology organizations
  • Experience with successfully negotiating and restructuring complex agreements
  • Experience interpreting and applying contractual terms to manage a business relationship
  • Ability to summarize complex information into simple concepts for broad communication to project teams and management status reports.
  • Strong attention to detail, entrepreneurial, creative, open-minded, persistent and collaborative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel and PowerPoint slide-building skills) and familiarity with project planning tools (SmartSheet preferred but others acceptable).

This is a hybrid position with remote work possible a few days of the week.
