Overview

AlivaMab Discovery Services is seeking an outstanding individual with a wide range of skills in antibody bacteriophage display, and molecular and cellular biology technologies to join our collaborative and innovative therapeutic antibody engineering team.

 

The annualized anticipated base annual salary for this Senior Scientist position ranges from $136K to $171K. Additionally, this position offers an annual bonus, equity, and other benefits.

 

Other benefits offered include a 401K retirement savings plan, paid time off (vacation/personal days, holidays, and sick time), long- and short-term disability, health benefits (medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance), gym access, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Design, construct, and implement next-generation antibody display libraries for antibody discovery, engineering, and optimization.
  • Conduct antibody phage display, molecular biology, and analytical data generation and analysis.
  • Design and optimize molecular biology workflows for speed and efficiency.
  • Build and work with state-of-the-art engineered antibodies and multispecifics.
  • Design and tune antibody phage display platform technologies.
  • Execute projects and prepare written reports.
  • Experimental design, experiment execution, and troubleshooting.
  • Work closely with other team members and leaders.
  • Effectively present and communicate concepts and results, both orally and in writing, to colleagues and management.

Qualifications

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • MS with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or PhD with a minimum of 2 years of related experience.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in antibody bacteriophage display and library design/construction.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in molecular biology and construct design.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, DNA/RNA isolation, plasmid prep, gel extraction, cloning, Gibson assembly, Sanger sequence analysis, NGS sequence analysis).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Extraordinary attention to detail, planning skills, and organizational skills.
  • History of timeline-driven delivery.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Independent and creative researcher who demonstrates initiative.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and sequence analysis software.
  • Experience with any of the following is a plus: protein expression in CHO, bacteria, yeast or insect cell systems, antibody engineering and reformatting, high-throughput recombinant expression.
